Zenek Martyniuk was born on June 23, 1969, in Białystok, Poland. He was raised in a very musical family, with a grandmother and mother who sang, and uncles who played in music bands at county parties. Zenek was surrounded by music from a young age, and his family's influence sparked his passion for music.
Despite his musical upbringing, Zenek is self-taught and has never attended a formal music school. After completing 8th grade, he began performing for money at weddings and other public events. His talent was recognized early on, and he was soon picked up to join a band after being spotted during a wedding performance.
In 1989, Zenek Martyniuk founded the band Akcent with fellow member Mariusz Anikiej. The band quickly gained popularity in Poland with their disco polo music. They released 15 studio albums and became known for hits such as "Gwiazda," "Desire for Love," and "Queen of the Night," a cover of a song by the Meffis group.
In the 90s, Zenek formed another group and released three albums. He also pursued a solo career, releasing two albums starting in 1994. His music has resonated with fans across Poland and beyond, showcasing his versatility as a singer and guitarist.
