Yujiro Kushida, born on December 5, 1983 in Tokyo, Japan, is a professional wrestler and former mixed martial artist. He started his journey in combat sports at a young age, training in mixed martial arts at Nobuhiko Takada's Takada Dojo while still in junior high school. It was here that he honed his skills and passion for the sport, ultimately making his professional MMA debut in 2003.
In 2004, Kushida made a name for himself by winning the ZST Genesis Lightweight Tournament.
