The eighth emperor of the Qing dynasty, Xianfeng Emperor, was born on July 17, 1831, in Beijing, China. His birth name was Yizhu, and he ascended to the throne at the young age of 19. He was the seventh emperor of the Qing dynasty to rule over China proper, and his reign lasted from 1850 to 1861.

Xianfeng Emperor was the last Chinese emperor to rule with authoritarian control.
