William Francis, born on August 1, 1982, in Seattle, Washington, discovered his passion for music at a young age. Growing up in a musically inclined family, he learned to play various instruments and developed a deep love for punk rock.
Francis began his musical journey as the bass player for the punk rock band Aiden when it was formed in 2003. However, when the original lead singer left the band, Francis stepped in and took over as the lead vocalist. His powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence quickly gained him recognition in the punk rock scene.
Not content with just being a part of Aiden, Francis branched out and started his electronic music project, William Control. Embracing a darker, more atmospheric sound, he delved into themes of love, lust, and loss, captivating audiences with his haunting melodies and introspective lyrics.
William Control caught the attention of Victory Records, and Francis signed with the label to release his music. However, he eventually decided to start his own independent label, Control Records, to have more creative control over his work and connect directly with his fans.
Outside of his music career, Francis is a devoted father to his son, Phineas. Despite the demands of his profession, he strives to make time for his family and ensure a healthy work-life balance.
Throughout his career, Francis has collaborated with various artists and bands, expanding his musical horizons and reaching new audiences. He toured extensively with Aiden, including as a supporting act for Jared Leto's Thirty Seconds to Mars, gaining exposure and building a dedicated fan base.
Whether as the frontman of Aiden or the creator of William Control, William Francis has left an indelible mark on the music industry. His raw talent, fearless creativity, and unwavering dedication to his craft continue to inspire aspiring musicians and resonate with fans around the world.
