Wally Palmar, born Volodymyr Palamarchuk on April 27, 1953, in Hamtramck, Michigan, is a rock singer and guitarist best known for co-founding the band The Romantics. His parents were Ukrainian immigrants who sought a better life in the United States, and they instilled in Wally a strong work ethic and a love for music.
Wally attended Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic High School in Warren, Michigan, where he excelled academically and discovered his passion for music. He honed his skills as a guitarist and singer, performing in school bands and local talent shows.
In 1977, Wally Palmar, along with his friends Mike Skill, Rich Cole, and Jimmy Marinos, formed the band The Romantics. In 1983, The Romantics achieved commercial success with the release of "Talking in Your Sleep," a song co-written by Wally Palmar.
