Virginia Louise Giuffre, born on September 8, 1983, in Sacramento, California, is an activist and founder of SOAR (Speak Out, Act, Reclaim). She was born to Sky and Lynn Roberts, and the family later moved to Florida when she was just four years old. Unfortunately, Giuffre's early life was marked by childhood abuse and instability, leading her to run away from home at the young age of 14. She found herself living on the streets, struggling to survive.
In 2007, Giuffre's life took a dark turn when she was recruited into Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking ring by Ghislaine Maxwell. Epstein, a wealthy financier and convicted sex offender, used his power and influence to exploit young girls like Giuffre for his own gratification. Giuffre's harrowing experiences at the hands of Epstein and his associates left her scarred, but also determined to speak out against the injustices she suffered.
Despite facing immense challenges and threats to her safety, Giuffre courageously spoke out about her experiences as a victim of sex trafficking. She accused Prince Andrew, Duke of York, of engaging in sexual intercourse with her while she was still a minor. The ensuing legal battle resulted in an out-of-court settlement, with Prince Andrew reportedly required to make a sizable donation to Giuffre's charity.
In addition to her accusations against Prince Andrew, Giuffre also charged Epstein himself and settled out of court. Her allegations were supported by photos, witnesses, and various records, lending credence to her claims and shedding light on the dark underbelly of sex trafficking and exploitation.
Determined to make a difference and empower other survivors, Giuffre founded SOAR (Speak Out, Act, Reclaim), originally known as Victims Refuse Silence. Through this organization, she aims to raise awareness about human trafficking, provide support to victims, and advocate for justice and accountability for perpetrators.
In 2002, Giuffre married Robert Giuffre, with whom she shares three children. Despite the challenges she has faced, Giuffre remains devoted to her family and is fiercely protective of her loved ones. Her strength and resilience in the face of adversity are a testament to her courage and determination to fight for justice.
Giuffre continues to use her platform, including her social media account on Instagram, to raise awareness about human trafficking and share her story. With over 4,000 followers, she has built a community of supporters and advocates who stand with her in the fight against exploitation and abuse.
Giuffre's journey from victim to survivor to activist is a powerful testament to the strength of the human spirit and the importance of speaking out against injustice. Her courage in facing her past and advocating for change serves as an inspiration to all who have been affected by the horrors of sex trafficking.
