Victoria attended Eastern Connecticut State University, where she earned Bachelor's degrees in both History and Education. Victoria's passion for teaching led her to pursue a career in education. Tragically, Victoria's life was cut short on December 14, 2012, during the Sandy Hook school shooting. Her heroism in the face of danger inspired a nation and earned her the posthumous award of the Presidential Citizens Medal.
