Tyler Summitt was born on September 21, 1990, in Tennessee. Growing up, he was surrounded by the world of basketball thanks to his legendary mother, Pat Summitt, who was a highly respected women's college basketball coach. Tyler attended the Webb School of Knoxville where he played high school basketball before going on to become a guard for the Tennessee Volunteers.
During his time at the University of Tennessee, Tyler Summitt not only excelled on the basketball court but also in the classroom. He was voted Scholar-Athlete of the Year in his senior season at the Webb School of Knoxville and received the prestigious Spartan Award for his achievements.
After graduating from college, Tyler Summitt decided to follow in his mother's footsteps and pursue a career in coaching. He started as an assistant coach at Marquette before moving on to the University of Tennessee. In 2014, he was named the head coach of the Louisiana Tech University women's basketball team, taking over from Teresa Weatherspoon.
