As a senior at William Fleming High School, Daniels made a name for himself on the basketball court. He earned All-State honors during his senior season and led his team to three consecutive appearances in Virginia's triple-A state championship games.
After a successful high school career, Daniels decided to continue his basketball journey at Virginia Commonwealth University. Under the guidance of coach Shaka Smart, Daniels quickly made an impact on the VCU Rams' team. In January 2013, he made a then-Atlantic 10 record by sinking eleven 3-pointers in a single game, showcasing his incredible shooting skills.
After a standout collegiate career, Daniels entered the NBA draft in 2013. He went undrafted but was determined to prove himself in the league. In 2015, he was traded to the Charlotte Hornets, where he played during the 2015-2016 season.
