Aside from his editorial work, Flynn is also known for his contributions to the Free Thinking blog and The New Encyclopedia of Unbelief. He has written several full-length books, including The Trouble with Christmas and the satirical science fiction novel Galactic Rapture.
One of Flynn's major accomplishments was producing a television documentary series titled American Freethought. The series focused on promoting atheism and free thought in American society.
Although born in Erie, Pennsylvania, Flynn later relocated to Buffalo, New York where he settled. He was an only child, and his upbringing in Pennsylvania played a significant role in shaping his beliefs and values.
Flynn's passion for promoting atheism and free thought stemmed from his early readings of the works of Robert Ingersoll, a prominent figure in the freethought movement. Ingersoll's ideas and philosophies greatly influenced Flynn's own beliefs and activism.
In addition to his other activities, Flynn managed the Robert Green Ingersoll Museum later in his life, further solidifying his dedication to promoting secular humanism and free thought.
