Tom Allen was born on March 14, 1970 in New Castle, Indiana. Growing up, he developed a passion for football and dreamed of one day becoming a head coach at the collegiate level. He began his coaching career in 1992 as the defensive coordinator for Temple Heights Christian School in Tampa, Florida. This experience laid the foundation for what would become a successful coaching career.
After his stint at Temple Heights Christian School, Allen went on to coach at various universities across the country. He started at Drake University before moving on to positions at Arkansas State, the University of Mississippi, and the University of South Florida. His dedication and hard work paid off when he was signed as the head coach for the University of Indiana Hoosiers.
Since joining Indiana University, Tom Allen has made a significant impact on the team. In 2019, he led the Hoosiers to their first top 25 ranking in college football since 1994. His coaching strategies and leadership skills have earned him the respect of players, fans, and fellow coaches alike. In 2020, he was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year, a well-deserved recognition of his accomplishments on the field.
Outside of football, Tom Allen values his family above all else. He lives with his wife, Tracy, and their three children, who provide him with unwavering support and love.
