Taiwan Williams was born on July 31, 1988, in Richmond, California. As a child, he spent time living in both Kansas and Arkansas before eventually settling in California at the age of 19. It was in California where he found his passion for dance and began to immerse himself in Sacramento's vibrant dance scene.
Williams' career in dance began to take off when he started dancing backup for some of the biggest names in the music industry, such as Chris Brown and Pharrell Williams. His talent and dedication eventually caught the attention of the producers of So You Think You Can Dance, leading to his appearance on the eighth season of the popular dance competition show in 2011.
