Stylo G was born on July 16, 1985, in Spanish Town, Jamaica, as Jason McDermott. He spent the first twelve years of his life in his hometown, surrounded by the rich musical culture of the Caribbean. His father, the renowned reggae artist Poison Chang, introduced him to music at a young age, nurturing his love for the art form.
Tragedy struck when Stylo G's father was brutally murdered. Devastated by the loss, Stylo G made the difficult decision to leave Jamaica and start a new life in South London, England. It was a challenging time for the young artist, but he found solace in his music, using it as a form of therapy to cope with the pain of his father's passing.
In 2012, Stylo G made his mark on the music scene with the release of his first two singles, "Summer Is Back" and "Press Up." These tracks showcased his unique blend of reggae and dancehall sounds, earning him a loyal following in the United Kingdom.
