Steven Kopacz was born on July 24, 1984, in Wisconsin. From a young age, he showed a keen interest in music, particularly in playing the drums. As a teenager, he joined a post-hardcore band called Embraced, where he honed his skills and gained some recognition within the local music scene. In 2002, the band released an EP titled An Orchestrated Failure, which received mild success.

After his experience with Embraced, Kopacz went on to play drums for the band Don't Die Cindy. However, he soon decided to part ways with the group in pursuit of forming his own band. In 2007, he co-founded the pop rock band Go Radio, where he served as the drummer. The band quickly gained popularity and went on to release several successful albums.
