Stephen Pierce was born on September 19, 1991 in Cornelius, North Carolina. From a young age, he was drawn to the water and spent his childhood days exploring the lakes and rivers near his home. It was during these formative years that he developed a passion for wakeboarding, a sport that would come to define his life in the years to come.
In 2008, at the age of 17, Stephen began working as a wakeboard instructor at the Charlotte Waterski Center. It was here that he honed his skills and began to attract attention for his natural talent on the water. His dedication and hard work paid off when he was named the North Carolina state champion for four consecutive years, establishing himself as one of the top wakeboarders in the state.
Stephen's success on the water continued to grow, and he quickly gained a reputation for his impressive tricks and aerial maneuvers. In 2015, he secured two wins at the Contour big air kicker event, further solidifying his status as a rising star in the wakeboarding world.
Throughout his career, Stephen has been sponsored by industry leaders such as Liquid Force wake boards, Spy Optics, and Rip Curl. These partnerships have not only provided him with the equipment and support he needs to excel in his sport, but have also helped to raise his profile and expand his reach within the wakeboarding community.
Despite his busy schedule and demanding training regimen, Stephen remains deeply connected to his roots in North Carolina. He is proud to call Cornelius his hometown, and he credits the tight-knit community for much of his success and support throughout his career.
In early 2017, Stephen had the opportunity to meet and train with CrossFit guru Rich Froning. The experience was a highlight in his career, and he continues to draw inspiration from Froning's work ethic and dedication to his craft.
As Stephen's career continues to evolve, he remains focused on pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the world of wakeboarding. With his sights set on new challenges and opportunities, there is no doubt that he will continue to make waves in the sport for years to come.
