Stephanie Jaworski was born on August 29, 1957, in Nova Scotia, Canada, to a British father. She spent her early years in Canada before moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba as a teenager. It was in Winnipeg where she would meet her future husband, Rick. The couple eventually married and embarked on a journey that would take them to various cities across the United States.
Stephanie's passion for baking and cooking developed at a young age, but she never had formal training in the culinary arts. Her foray into the world of baking began with a one-week Patisserie class at the Le Cordon Bleu in London. She further honed her skills through classes at the San Francisco Baking Institute and a course in baking at the Western Culinary Institute.
In 1988, Stephanie and Rick moved to Portland, Oregon, where Stephanie's culinary journey truly began. She launched the culinary blog Joyofbaking.com, which would later be acquired by iFood Media LLC. Stephanie took on the role of Chief Content Officer for the company, overseeing the creative direction of the brand.
One of Stephanie's biggest accomplishments came in January 2015 when the affiliated YouTube channel for Joyofbaking.com won four Taste Awards. The awards included Best Single Topic Series, Best Home Chef in a Series, Best Instructional Web Series, and Best Food Program Web. This set a record for the most awards won by a single entity at the Taste Awards event.
Stephanie and Rick have lived in various cities throughout their marriage, including Indianapolis, Indiana, Atlanta, Georgia, and St. Simons Island, Georgia. Despite the frequent relocations, Stephanie continued to grow her culinary brand and expand her online presence.
Stephanie Jaworski's impact on the culinary world extends beyond her impressive accolades. Her dedication to sharing her love of baking and cooking with others has inspired a community of over 1.5 million subscribers on her YouTube channel. Through her innovative approach to food content, Stephanie has left a lasting legacy in the world of online culinary education.
