Skyy Moore was born on October 9, 2000, in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. Growing up, he lived with his family and was raised by his parents, Timika Hastie and Roger Moore. From a young age, Skyy showed a passion for sports, particularly football.
Skyy attended Shady Side Academy preparatory school, where he excelled both academically and athletically. In high school, he played as the team's quarterback and also as a defensive back. His versatility on the field caught the attention of college scouts, and he was recruited to play college football at Western Michigan University.
Upon enrolling at Western Michigan University, Skyy quickly made a name for himself as a standout wide receiver for the Broncos. He was twice named a member of the first-team All-MAC, showcasing his exceptional talent and skill on the field. In 2019, he made history by becoming the first freshman in the program's history to receive first-team All-MAC honors, following in the footsteps of former Bronco great Corey Davis.
Skyy's success at the college level caught the attention of NFL scouts, and he was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs during the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He joined a star-studded lineup and had the opportunity to play alongside renowned quarterback Patrick Mahomes II. Skyy's speed, agility, and exceptional catching abilities made him a valuable asset to the team.
During his sophomore year, Skyy showcased his talents on the field by scoring a touchdown in three consecutive games. He faced tough opponents such as the University of Toledo, Northern Illinois University, and Eastern Michigan University, proving himself as a formidable player in the college football arena.
