Sherrod Campbell Brown was born on September 9, 1952, in Mansfield, Ohio. He grew up in a working-class family, where his father was a doctor and his mother was a school teacher. Brown attended Mansfield Senior High School, where he developed a passion for public service and community engagement.
After graduating from high school, Brown went on to pursue a higher education at Yale University, where he studied economics and political science.
