Sheldon Richardson was born on November 29, 1990 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was raised by his parents, Michael and Zelda Richardson, who instilled in him a love for sports from a young age. Growing up, Richardson showed a natural talent for football and began playing at a local level before eventually earning a spot on his high school team.
After graduating from high school, Richardson attended the University of Missouri on a football scholarship.
