Saulius Skvernelis was born on July 23, 1970 in Kaunas, Lithuania. He grew up in a middle-class family and had a strong desire to serve his country from a young age.
After graduating from Vilnius Technical University in 1994, Skvernelis began his career working at the Lithuania Police Academy. It was during this time that he developed a passion for law enforcement and public service.
In 1998, Skvernelis entered the Lithuanian law enforcement system as a traffic police inspector in Trakai District Municipality. His dedication and hard work quickly earned him promotions, eventually leading to his appointment as police commissioner.
In 2006, Skvernelis married his wife Silvija, with whom he shares a strong partnership and a deep commitment to their family.
