Sage Erickson was born on December 28, 1990 in Ojai, California. At the age of 9, she moved to the Island of Oahu, Hawaii with her family. It was in Hawaii that she first discovered her love for surfing. At the age of 11, she picked up a surfboard for the first time and instantly fell in love with the sport.
Erickson began her competitive surfing career at the young age of 14. She quickly made a name for herself on the NSSA and Pro Junior circuits, showcasing her talent and skill in the water. Her hard work and dedication paid off when she won the 2010 U.S. Open Junior Pro, marking the beginning of a successful competitive career.
Throughout the years, Erickson continued to dominate the surfing world, claiming victories in prestigious competitions such as the 2012 Cabreiroa Pantin Classic Pro, 2015 Copa El Salvador Impressionante, and Pantin Classic Galicia Pro. She also made history by winning the Paul Mitchell Supergirl Pro twice.
In 2016, Erickson achieved a major milestone when she ranked as a top 10 surfer in the World Surfing Tour. Her consistent performance and impressive skills cemented her status as one of the best surfers in the world.
Aside from her surfing achievements, Erickson was also recognized for her beauty and talent outside of the water. In 2014, she was ranked #87 on the Maxim Hot 100 list, further solidifying her status as a rising star in the sports and entertainment industry.
Outside of her professional surfing career, Erickson leads a private life with her family. She has a brother named Noah and her father, Greg Erickson, has been a major source of support and inspiration throughout her journey as a professional surfer.
Erickson is known to have a close friendship with fellow pro surfer Alessa Quizon, sharing their passion for surfing and supporting each other in their respective careers.
