Sabaa Tahir, born on July 11, 1983, in the United States, is a renowned young adult author best known for her bestselling novel An Ember in the Ashes. She grew up in the Mojave Desert, raised by Pakistani immigrant parents who instilled in her a love for storytelling and literature from a young age.
Tahir attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she interned at the Washington Post. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for writing and editing.
