Ronan O'Gara was born on July 3, 1977, in San Diego, California, but he moved to Ireland at a young age. He attended University College Cork where he discovered his passion for rugby. It was during his time at the university that he honed his skills and was awarded the All-Ireland Under-20 medal in 1996.
O'Gara's career in rugby took off when he joined Munster as a fly-half. He quickly rose through the ranks and became one of the highest scorers in international rugby and the Six Nations Championships. He was known for his accurate kicking and game management skills.
