Robert Mould, known to fans as Bob Mould, was born on October 16, 1960, in Malone, New York. He was the son of Willis F. Mould III and Sheila Murphy and grew up alongside his sister, Susan, and his brother, Brian.
Mould attended Macalester College in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, where he would go on to form one of the most influential bands in alternative rock history.
While studying at Macalester College, Mould joined forces with drummer Grant Hart and bassist Greg Norton to form the iconic punk rock band Hüsker Dü. The band quickly gained attention for their blistering live performances and their groundbreaking blend of punk rock and melodic hardcore.
With Mould at the helm as the guitarist, primary songwriter, and lead vocalist, Hüsker Dü released a string of critically acclaimed albums, including "New Day Rising" and "Zen Arcade." The band's raw energy and emotional lyrics resonated with a generation of music fans and solidified their place in the pantheon of punk rock legends.
