Rich Meyer was born on February 5, 1985 in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Growing up, he was exposed to music at a young age and developed a passion for playing the bass guitar. Alongside his twin brother Ryan, who would later become the drummer of Highly Suspect, Rich honed his musical skills and immersed himself in the world of rock music.
Rich and his brother Ryan started their musical journey by forming a cover band that played songs by iconic artists such as Sublime, Jimi Hendrix, and Pink Floyd. This experience laid the foundation for what would later become the critically acclaimed rock band, Highly Suspect.
Highly Suspect was formed in 2009, with Rich Meyer taking on the role of bassist. The band quickly gained recognition and acclaim for their unique sound and powerful performances. In 2015, they released their debut studio album "Mister Asylum," which garnered widespread praise and earned them a loyal fan following.
Since their debut album, Highly Suspect has been on a relentless touring schedule, captivating audiences around the world with their electrifying live shows. Their music has earned them numerous accolades, including nominations for Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.
Outside of his music career, Rich Meyer has pursued his passion for craftsmanship by creating custom-order guitars through his online shop, venice_guitars. He has also cultivated a strong presence on social media, particularly on Instagram, where he shares glimpses of his daily life with his more than 20,000 followers.
