Renato Tapia was born on July 28, 1995 in Lima, Peru. He was brought up through the youth system of Sporting Cristal from 2004 to 2007, where he honed his skills as a young footballer. At the age of 12, he joined the Esther Grande academy, further developing his talent and passion for the sport.
Tapia began his professional career with Jong FC Twente and FC Twente, before making the move to Feyenoord in 2016.
