Reid Wiseman, born on November 11, 1975, in Maryland, had a passion for space exploration from a young age. He pursued his dreams by studying computer and systems engineering at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. Wiseman continued his education by obtaining a Master of Science degree in systems engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
After completing his education, Wiseman dedicated several years to serving in the US Navy. He piloted with Strike Fighter Squadron 103 on the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, honing his skills and gaining valuable experience in aviation.
Wiseman's lifelong dream of becoming an astronaut became a reality when he was selected as a NASA astronaut candidate in 2011. After completing his training, he was assigned to Expedition 41 aboard the International Space Station as a flight engineer.
