Reece Humphrey was born on July 31, 1986, in Bloomington, Indiana. From a young age, he showed a natural talent for wrestling. He attended Lawrence North High School, where he was a standout athlete on the wrestling team. Humphrey played a crucial role in leading the Wildcats to back-to-back Ohio state championships in 2004 and 2005.
After high school, Humphrey went on to wrestle for the Ohio State Buckeyes at the collegiate level. During his time at Ohio State, he became a two-time NCAA All-American, solidifying his reputation as one of the top wrestlers in the country.
Following his successful collegiate career, Humphrey transitioned to freestyle wrestling. He quickly made a name for himself on the national stage, winning the USA National Freestyle Wrestling Championships in 2011, 2013, and 2015. His technical skills and competitive drive set him apart from his peers, earning him a reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the wrestling world.
In 2017, Humphrey accepted the head coaching position at the New Jersey Regional Training Center. His leadership and expertise have helped develop the next generation of elite wrestlers, passing on his knowledge and passion for the sport to aspiring athletes.
Outside of wrestling, Humphrey enjoys a fulfilling family life. He is married to his wife, Meredith, and together they have two children, Parker and Reace. Humphrey's father, Jim, also had a successful wrestling career, winning a World silver medal in freestyle wrestling in 1977.
