Ahmir Khalib Thompson, better known as Questlove, was born on January 20, 1971 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up surrounded by music, as his father, Lee Andrews, was the frontman for the popular 1950's doo-wop group Lee Andrews & the Hearts.
