Paula Van Oppen was born on June 20, 1989 in Orange County, California. From a very young age, she showed a natural talent for dancing and performing. At the age of just 3 years old, she started taking dance classes and quickly developed a passion for the art form.
Van Oppen's big break came when she auditioned for the popular reality TV show, 'So You Think You Can Dance.' She auditioned for season 5 and 6 of the show, showcasing her exceptional dance skills and captivating stage presence. Although she did not win the competition, her talent caught the attention of industry professionals.
In 2012, Van Oppen joined the iconic girl group, The Pussycat Dolls, as a member. She brought her unique style and energy to the group, contributing to their success and solidifying her place in the music industry.
In 2013, Van Oppen became a part of the girl group G.R.L., which quickly rose to fame with their hit single "Wild Wild Love." The song achieved Platinum status three times on the Australian Recording Industry Association chart, solidifying the group's popularity and success.
Despite their achievements, G.R.L. disbanded in 2015. However, in December 2016, the group announced their reunion, although Van Oppen chose not to rejoin. Throughout her time with G.R.L., Van Oppen performed alongside fellow member Lauren Bennett, captivating audiences with their dynamic performances and strong vocals.
Outside of her music career, Van Oppen is known for her dedication to dance and performance. She made the decision to move to Los Angeles to pursue her passion, opting for a career in the entertainment industry rather than attending Juilliard.
