Paul Hogan was born on October 8, 1939 in Sydney, Australia. Raised in the working-class suburb of Granville, he was the son of Florence and Charles Hogan. He attended Parramatta Marist High School, but dropped out at the age of 15 to work as a rigger on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
After spending years working on the bridge, Hogan decided to pursue a career in entertainment. His big break came in 1973 when he appeared on the talent show "New Faces," where he showcased his comedic talent. This led to a series of television appearances and eventually his own show, "The Paul Hogan Show," which premiered in 1973.
However, it was his role as Mick Dundee in the film "Crocodile Dundee" that catapulted him to international fame. The film, released in 1986, was a huge success and earned Hogan a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy. He reprised the role in two sequels, "Crocodile Dundee II" in 1988 and "Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles" in 2001.
Paul Hogan's personal life has been just as eventful as his career. He married Noelene Edwards in 1958, and the couple had five children together. They separated in 1981 and divorced in 1982, only to remarry in 1982 and divorce again in 1990.
Hogan then married his "Crocodile Dundee" co-star Linda Kozlowski in 1990. They had a son named Chance together, but divorced in 2014. In a surprising turn of events, Hogan rekindled his romance with his first wife Noelene in 2017.
Aside from his work on the "Crocodile Dundee" franchise, Paul Hogan has appeared in a variety of other film and television projects. He played Porter in the 1996 film "Flipper" and portrayed Shane in the 1998 film "Floating Away." He also starred alongside Michael Caton in the 2004 Australian comedy "Strange Bedfellows."
Paul Hogan's iconic portrayal of Mick Dundee has cemented his status as one of Australia's most beloved actors. His unique blend of humor, charm, and rugged masculinity endeared him to audiences around the world.
