Patrick Kirch was born on January 2, 1990 in Tempe, Arizona. Growing up in a musical family, Kirch was influenced by his three brothers who shared his passion for music. He was drawn to the drums at a young age and began playing in local bands as a teenager.
In January of 2007, Kirch joined forces with bassist Garrett Nickelsen to form the Arizona based rock group, The Maine. Their unique blend of pop-punk and alternative rock quickly garnered attention in the local music scene.
After signing with Fearless Records on December 11, 2007, The Maine released their third album titled Pioneer. The album peaked at #90 on the Billboard 200 chart, solidifying their place in the music industry. Their subsequent album, Forever Halloween, reached even greater heights, peaking at #39 on the charts.
