Nora Ariffin, better known simply as Nora, was born on July 26, 1973, in Malaysia. From a young age, she showed a natural talent for singing, participating in talent contests as a child and dreaming of a career in the music industry. Despite facing many challenges early on, Nora remained determined to pursue her passion for music.
In 1991, Nora's dreams started to become a reality when she won the prestigious HMI Star competition. This victory gave her the platform she needed to launch her music career. Just three years later, in 1994, Nora released her debut album, titled "Sandiwara," which catapulted her to fame in the Malaysian music industry.
Following the success of "Sandiwara," Nora continued to release hit after hit, with over a dozen studio albums and compilation albums to her name. Her unique voice and heartfelt lyrics resonated with audiences across Malaysia, earning her numerous awards, including the Malaysian Music Industry Award for Best New Female Artist in 1995.
Aside from her music career, Nora found happiness in her personal life as well. She married Johan Nawawi and together they co-created the animated series "Ummi...Ceritalah Pada Kami" in 2012. The couple welcomed a son, Mohd Syakir Iman, into their lives, creating a loving and supportive family environment for their child.
Nora's talent and popularity allowed her to collaborate with other renowned Malaysian artists, such as Ziana Zain and Ning Baizura. One of her most memorable collaborations was the 1997 single "Cinta Di Akhir Garisan," which featured both Ziana Zain and Ning Baizura, showcasing Nora's versatility as an artist.
