Neiko Thorpe was born on January 2, 1990, in Southfield, Michigan. He spent his childhood in the Tucker, Georgia area where he developed a passion for football at a young age. After excelling on the high school gridiron, Thorpe went on to play college football at Auburn University. During his time at Auburn, he was a standout player for the Tigers and was a key contributor to their 2011 BCS National Championship win.
Thorpe's talent on the field did not go unnoticed, and he was eventually signed as an undrafted free agent by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012. He made his official NFL debut during week five of the 2012 regular season, playing against the Baltimore Ravens. In his rookie season, Thorpe played in nine games primarily on special teams.
Over the course of his eight-year NFL career, Thorpe played for multiple teams including the Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, Indianapolis Colts, and Seattle Seahawks. In addition to his NFL career, Thorpe also played professionally in Canada for the Toronto Argonauts.
After retiring from professional football in 2021, Thorpe transitioned into coaching and was hired by the Seattle Seahawks as a coach. Off the field, Thorpe values family and is happily married with a daughter. He continues to reside in the Seattle area with his family.
