Miu Hirano was born on April 14, 2000, in Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. From a young age, she showed a natural talent for table tennis and began training seriously at a local club in her hometown.
In March 2014, Hirano made her mark on the international table tennis scene by winning her first doubles title at the ITTF World Tour German Open. This victory marked the beginning of her career as a professional player. Just two years later, in April 2016, she clinched her first Women's Singles title at the ITTF World Tour, solidifying her reputation as a rising star in the sport.
Known for her right-handed shakehand grip and powerful counter driver, Hirano quickly gained a reputation for her aggressive playing style and tactical prowess on the table. She joined the Nippon Life club and was soon selected to represent Japan on the national team.

She has won several World Championships, including the Polish Open World Tour in 2016 in the singles category, the World Championships in 2015 in the Doubles category, and the World Junior Championships in the mixed doubles category in 2016.
