Early Life

Miles Mikolas was born on August 23, 1988, in Jupiter, Florida. He attended Jupiter Community High School, where he excelled in baseball and caught the attention of scouts. After graduating in 2006, he went on to attend Nova Southeastern University, where he continued to hone his skills on the baseball field.

Professional Career

Mikolas was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 7th round of the 2009 MLB Draft. He made his MLB debut on May 5, 2012, with the Padres. Over the course of his career, he has also played for the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals.

In 2015, Mikolas made the decision to play in Japan and signed with the Yomiuri Giants of Nippon Professional Baseball. He spent three seasons with the Giants before returning to the MLB in 2018 with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Mikolas earned the nickname "Lizard King" during a game in the Arizona Fall League in 2011 when he famously ate a lizard in the bullpen. Off the field, Mikolas is a family man.
