Michael Grove was born on December 18, 1996, in Wheeling, West Virginia. He grew up with his two siblings in Wheeling, where he attended Wheeling Park High School. During his high school years, Grove was a multi-sport athlete, participating in baseball, football, and hockey.
After graduating from high school, Grove went on to attend West Virginia University, where he played college baseball. During his time at WVU, he was twice named to the first team All-Big 12 Academic Team, showcasing his dedication both on and off the field.
Grove was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the second round of the 2018 Major League Draft. He made his official major league debut on May 15, 2022, pitching against the Philadelphia Phillies. In his debut game, Grove pitched just over three innings and recorded three strikeouts, including his very first MLB strikeout against Alec Bohm.
Off the field, Grove has been in a relationship with Macy Omli. He continues to represent his hometown of Wheeling, West Virginia, with pride as he pursues his professional baseball career.
