Melanie Amaro was born on June 26, 1992 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Growing up, she was raised in Tortola, British Virgin Islands with her two brothers, Mark and Mike, and her younger sister, Maya. Amaro discovered her passion for singing at a young age and would often perform for her family and friends.
She attended Plantation High School where she excelled academically and was involved in various extracurricular activities, including choir and drama club. It was during her time in high school that she decided to pursue a career in music and began honing her talent.
In 2011, Melanie Amaro auditioned for the first season of The X Factor, a popular singing competition show. Her powerful voice and captivating stage presence impressed the judges, including Simon Cowell. Amaro went on to win the competition, earning a five million dollar music contract soon after.
