Matthew Zhang was born on June 16, 2002 in Youngstown, Ohio. He comes from a family with roots in Southern China, who immigrated to America to pursue their dreams. His parents opened a medical practice in Ohio, where Matthew and his younger brother, actor Michael Zhang, were raised.
Matthew first dipped his toes into show business by performing stand-up comedy at the iconic Hollywood Improv. His charisma and natural talent quickly caught the attention of industry professionals, leading to his first major break – a promo spot for the popular game show Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?
Matthew's big break came when he landed the role of Oliver Pook in Nickelodeon's hit series Henry Danger.
