Mark Moseley was born on December 3, 1948 in Texas. He grew up in Livingston, Texas and attended Livingston High School. After graduating from high school, Moseley went on to play college football at Stephen F. Austin State University.
Professional Career
Moseley was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 14th round of the 1970 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons with the Eagles before being traded to the Houston Oilers. Moseley then went on to play for the Washington Redskins, Cleveland Browns, and Kansas City Chiefs during his NFL career.
Moseley's most successful season came in 1982 when he won the NFL MVP award, becoming the first special teams player to do so. He was known for his strong kicking ability and clutch performances in high-pressure situations. Moseley played a key role in the Washington Redskins' victory in Super Bowl XVII, kicking crucial field goals behind quarterback Joe Theismann.
