Maripily Rivera, born María del Pilar Rivera Borrero on June 15, 1977, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, is a multi-talented individual known for her work as an actress, model, and television presenter. She grew up with her parents Hector Rivera and Pilar Borrero.
Maripily attended the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism. It was during her time at university that she began exploring her passion for the media industry and honing her skills.
After graduating, Maripily briefly worked as a reporter for Univision, gaining experience in the field of journalism. However, it was her foray into modeling that truly set her on her path to success. In 1995, she participated in the Miss Puerto Rico Petite pageant, marking the beginning of her modeling career. She later became a finalist in the 1999 Miss Puerto Rico Petite Pageant, showcasing her talent and beauty to the world.
Maripily's career continued to flourish as she made a name for herself in the entertainment industry. She starred in various television shows such as Miente, No te duermas, and Noches con Platanito, showcasing her acting prowess. She also gained recognition for her appearances on reality shows like Famosas VIP and for co-hosting Eso vale and No te duermas with Héctor Marcano on WAPA-TV in Puerto Rico.
Maripily's entrepreneurial spirit also led her to open a fashion store called Maripily Boutique in Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, the store burned down in 2007, but this setback did not deter her from pursuing her dreams. In 2013, she launched her own fragrance line, MP by Maripily, further expanding her brand.
Maripily's personal life has also been the subject of public interest. She was previously married to baseball star Roberto Alomar and had a son, also named José Antonio García, with her former partner José Antonio García.
In 2013, Maripily got engaged to businessman Alberto Rodríguez, but their wedding was ultimately canceled. Despite the challenges she has faced in her personal life, Maripily continues to stay strong and focus on her career and personal growth.
