Maria Lourdes Sereno, born on February 7, 1960, in the Philippines, has had a remarkable career in law and justice. She graduated from Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in economics before pursuing a second bachelor's degree in law from the University of the Philippines. She furthered her legal education by studying at the University of Michigan's Law School.
Sereno's legal career began when she served as an Associate Justice before being appointed as the Chief Justice of the Philippine Supreme Court in 2012. Throughout her career, she also held leadership positions in organizations such as Accesslaw Inc. and the Asian Institute of Management Policy Center.
For close to twenty years, Sereno dedicated her time to teaching at the University of the Philippines' law school. In addition to her professional achievements, she is also a mother of two children from her marriage to Mario Jose Sereno.
Known for her commitment to justice and legal expertise, Sereno stands out as a prominent figure in Philippine law.
