Ludvig Åberg was born on October 31, 1999 in Sweden, to parents Mia Aberg and Johan Ungesson. From a young age, Ludvig had a passion for sports, with soccer being his first love. He dreamed of one day playing for Liverpool FC, but fate had other plans for him.
Although soccer was his first passion, Ludvig's talent for golf soon became evident. As a teenager, he was ranked as the 37th best golfer internationally. He represented Sweden in the youth national team, where he placed an impressive seventh at the Junior Players Championships.
Ludvig's talent on the golf course did not go unnoticed, and he was awarded a scholarship to attend Texas Tech University. During his time at Texas Tech, Ludvig shone as a standout player, earning the title of All-American and Collegiate National Player of the Year in 2023.
Shortly after graduating from Texas Tech, Ludvig turned professional and joined the Men's PGA Tour. He wasted no time in making a name for himself on the professional circuit, competing in prestigious tournaments such as the RBC Canadian Open, John Deere Classic, and BMW PGA Championship.
Outside of golf, Ludvig values his family above all else. He is the proud son of Mia and Johan, and has a sister named Linnea. When he's not on the golf course, Ludvig enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and cherishes the support they have given him throughout his career.
One of Ludvig's proudest moments came when he was selected by golfing legend Luke Donald to compete in the 2023 Ryder Cup. This was a testament to Ludvig's skill and dedication to the sport, and highlighted his potential to become a future star in the world of golf.
