Leonie Elliott was born on April 15, 1988, in London, England to Jamaican parents who had immigrated to the United Kingdom. Her mother works in a nursery and her father is an account manager. She grew up in a loving and supportive family environment with her older sister Aofie.
Leonie discovered her passion for acting at a young age and began pursuing it professionally when she was just 10 years old. Her first major television role came in 1998 when she played the character of Holly Lomas on the series Undercover Heart. The following year, she made her film debut as Rosebud in the movie Tube Tales.
