Laurdine Patrick, better known as "Pat" Patrick, was a highly talented baritone and alto saxophonist who left a lasting impact on the world of jazz music. Born on November 23, 1929, in East Moline, Illinois, Patrick had a remarkable career that spanned several decades, during which he collaborated with legendary musicians such as Sun Ra, John Coltrane, and Thelonious Monk.

After relocating to New York, he crossed paths with the avant-garde jazz visionary Sun Ra, with whom he would form a close musical partnership that lasted over forty years. Despite his musical talents, Patrick also worked a day job as an iron moulder at a factory to support himself.

He played with Sun Ra's Arkestra, a groundbreaking jazz ensemble known for its innovative approach to music.
