Laura Bingham, born on February 21, 1993, in Winchester, England, was the youngest of four sisters. Her family instilled a love of travel and adventure in her from a young age. At the age of 18, she set out on her first solo journey, traveling through the Greek islands, continental Europe, Africa, Asia, and North and Central America. After her extensive travels, Laura decided to settle down for a while and took up a teaching position in Mexico. There, she taught English to local students while also engaging in conservation work to protect the jaguars in the region. In September 2016, Laura married fellow explorer Ed Stafford, further cementing their shared passion for adventure. The couple soon welcomed three children into the world, a son, and twin girls.
