Larry Rountree III was born on February 13, 1999, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Growing up in the Raleigh area, he developed a passion for football at a young age and dreamed of one day playing in the NFL.
Rountree attended Millbrook High School, where he quickly made a name for himself as a standout football player. As a senior, he scored an impressive 21 touchdowns, showcasing his talent and earning recognition from college scouts across the country.
After high school, Rountree went on to play college football at the University of Missouri. During his time at Missouri, he excelled both on and off the field. He was twice named a member of the All-SEC Academic team, demonstrating his dedication to his studies as well as his athletic abilities.
In the 2021 NFL Draft, Rountree was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers as a sixth-round pick. He made his official NFL debut in week one of the regular season, facing off against the Washington Commanders. Throughout his rookie season, Rountree recorded 36 rushes for 87 yards and scored one touchdown.
Aside from his role as a tailback, Rountree has also made significant contributions as a returner for the Chargers. His versatility and skill on the field have made him a valuable asset to the team.
