Lance Stephenson was born on May 9, 1990 in Brooklyn, New York. Growing up in the tough streets of Brooklyn, he quickly developed a love for basketball. He attended Abraham Lincoln High School, where he made a name for himself as a star player.
During his time at Abraham Lincoln High School, Stephenson led his team to four consecutive city titles. He was named the Player of the Year twice by the New York Daily News and received All-American honors. He was widely regarded as one of the top high school players in the country.
After high school, Stephenson decided to forgo college and declare for the NBA Draft.
Stephenson was drafted 40th overall by the Indiana Pacers in the 2010 NBA Draft. He quickly made an impact, helping the Pacers reach the Eastern Conference Finals in 2013 and 2014. He then went on to play for several other teams, including the Charlotte Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Los Angeles Lakers.
One of the highlights of his career came on November 11, 2013 when he recorded his first NBA triple-double with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Stephenson is a proud father to his daughter, Liara. He is known for his confident and competitive nature, often challenging players who are older and more experienced than him. For example, before his freshman year of high school, he famously challenged O.J. Mayo, a senior three years his senior, to a one-on-one game.
