Kyle Seager was born on March 11, 1987, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He grew up in a baseball-loving family, with both of his brothers also pursuing careers in the sport. His younger brother, Corey Seager, was a first-round MLB draft pick in 2012, and his other brother, Justin Seager, was drafted in the 12th round in 2013.
Seager attended Northwest Cabarrus High School, where he excelled in baseball. He went on to play college baseball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a standout player for the Tar Heels. In 2009, he was named an All-American by Baseball America.
