Growing up in a conservative Christian household in New York, he was influenced by his brother Dan, who was also a musician. Klayton's early exposure to music came from being a member of the 1980s thrash band Immortal, where he honed his skills and passion for creating music.
Throughout his career, Klayton has been a part of various musical projects, showcasing his versatility and talent as a musician. One of his notable contributions is as the creative force behind the musical project Celldweller. Combining various genres and instruments, Celldweller's music has captivated audiences worldwide.
